Geology: 

Amazonite: A green to blue-green gemstone variety of microcline feldspar. 

Black Tourmaline: A complex boron silicate mineral group compounded with variable concentrations of aluminum, iron, magnesium, lithium, and sodium.

Mica: A family of phyllosilicate (sheet silicate) minerals characterized by nearly perfect basal cleavage, allowing them to split into extremely thin, flexible sheets.

The Common Thread: Because all three thrive in water-saturated, late-stage pegmatites, it is extremely common to find amazonite, black tourmaline, and mica sheets embedded together in the exact same host rock matrix.

Lapidary: Because of the surface Mica most of these stones aren't recommended for tumbling. A hand polish, sphere machine, or rough is recommended.  Be care because Amazonite isn't a tough stone although a 6.5 on the Mohs harness scale, and Black Tourmaline at a 7.5.
